Description: ‘An almost white colour. Zesty white fruit and apple blossom nose, really nice, with perhaps a hint of olive oil (strange but nice). There's sugar on the palate, but it's beautifully balanced by very zesty fruit and a backbone of acidity. Really nice wine, and their second cheapest, too. Definitely will buy more from Denbies. Allegedly the best selling English wine! M-T, Ortega and Bacchus blend – and perhaps Reichensteiner, website says so but bottle doesn't agree. A good “imitation” Bacchus. 8/10’ – Owen Edwards, cellartracker Rated 87 points: ‘Last two bottles drunk in convivial company as an aperatif on return from grand national. Still crisp and clear with fruit acid coming more to the fore than I recall in earlier bottles. Very fit for purpose.’ – austincarty, cellartracker ‘Fragrant, light, floral flavours. Good.’ – gravelld, cellartracker
A floral and fragrant white blend showing hints of spice and juicy fruit flavours. Surrey Gold from Denbies is a wine with a long history having been first produced in 1990. A blend of Müller-Thurgau, Ortega and Bacchus varieties it has an attractive lemon and elderflower aroma. Try serving with smoked fish.
